What starts as good nutritional science can be overtaken by marketing hype. In fact, 2015 research found a 36% sales increase associated with labels of ‘superfood’, ‘super fruit’ or ‘supergrain’. Luckily all whole foods (exotic or not) have unique nutritional profiles that make them amazing and super!

Did you know apples contain more antioxidants than acai berries? Or that Brussel sprouts contain more fibre than kale? 😱


Although these household foods may not be exotic, they’re 1. cheaper and 2. have unique benefits for health and well-being.

Focus on a super plate full of colourful, seasonal whole foods instead of one specific super food.
